Menu QR code
generator.
Turn a live menu link into a static, print-ready QR code. Preview it, download a PNG and test the destination before anything reaches the table.

Static QR / no signup
Create a QR code for your restaurant menu.
Paste the public URL for a menu page or PDF. The code is generated in this browser; the URL is not submitted to us.
- Uses a permanent static destination
- Downloads as a high-resolution PNG
- Adds an optional campaign tag for analytics
A static QR code cannot be edited after printing. Keep the page at the same URL and test the final print with more than one phone.

How to create a QR code for a restaurant menu, PDF or ordering page.
A menu QR code generator turns a public web address into a square code a phone camera can read. This tool creates a static QR code in the browser. It does not upload the menu, shorten the link or place the destination behind a subscription. The encoded address is the address guests will open.
Static is useful when the menu already lives at a stable URL. Keep that URL permanent, update the page behind it and the same printed code continues to work. The optional campaign tag adds standard UTM parameters so visits can be separated in compatible analytics software without changing the menu itself.
The menu destination should do more than display prices. Give it a descriptive page title, readable sections, current allergens or service notes, tap-friendly contact or ordering actions and enough contrast for a bright dining room. A fast QR scan followed by a slow, illegible document is still a failed menu experience.
Before printing, decide who owns the permanent URL and who updates the content. A code placed on tables, packaging or signage can remain in circulation for years. Using a path on the business domain keeps that destination under the business’s control and allows a redirect if the menu platform changes later.
How to use this tool
- Publish the destination firstUse a live HTTPS page or PDF that opens without a login. Check it on mobile data, not only on the business Wi-Fi.
- Paste the complete URLInclude https:// and any path that points directly to the current menu. The preview updates only when the address is valid.
- Choose tracking only if neededA table, window, receipt or flyer tag identifies the physical placement in analytics. Leave it off when tracking is not configured.
- Download, print and scanDownload the PNG, place it with a short instruction and test the final printed size on several phones before producing a large run.
Static menu QR code checklist
The generator handles the code. The destination and printed context still determine whether the experience is useful.
| Check | Good condition | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Destination | Public HTTPS page or PDF | Guests should not meet a login, broken redirect or certificate warning. |
| Mobile page | Readable without pinching | Most scans happen on a phone, often in weak light or on mobile data. |
| Quiet zone | Clear pale margin around the code | Decorations or text touching the modules can reduce scan reliability. |
| Printed size | At least about 30 mm for table use | Distance, surface glare and camera quality affect reliable scanning. |
| Fallback | Short readable URL nearby | Accessibility and camera problems should not block the menu. |
Worked example
A table menu with an optional campaign tag
Paste https://example.com/menu and choose “Table menu.” The generator adds utm_source=qr_code, utm_medium=offline and utm_campaign=menu_table, then encodes that complete destination.
Download the PNG with a clear filename such as example-table-menu.png. Open the destination button, scan the preview, then scan a paper proof from normal sitting distance. If the menu path will ever change, redirect the old path on your own domain rather than replacing the printed code.
Formula or selection rule
Encoded destination = validated menu URL + optional UTM parameters. A static QR stores that exact text; it cannot be edited after printing.
Common mistakes and browser limits
- Encoding a draft, local or password-protected URL.
- Printing before testing the actual downloadable file.
- Placing the code on a reflective or heavily patterned surface.
- Using a tiny code with a long destination and no clear margin.
- Assuming a static code provides scan analytics by itself.
FAQ
Questions people ask about this tool
Is this restaurant menu QR code free?
Yes. The code is generated in the browser without an account or watermark. The menu page or PDF must already be hosted at a public URL.
Does the QR code expire?
The static code itself does not expire. It stops being useful only if the encoded destination is removed, blocked or changed without a redirect.
Can I change the menu after printing?
Yes, if you update the content at the same URL. A static code cannot be pointed to a different URL after printing.
Can I use a PDF menu?
Yes, when the PDF has a stable public HTTPS address and is readable on a phone. A responsive HTML menu is usually easier to scan, search and update.
Does the tool collect my menu URL?
No form submission is used for generation. The QR library runs in this browser. Normal website server logs may still record that the tool page was visited.
